Comments on Should e.tv screen the racist video?

Forced?
The cleaners were laughing in the video and said they thought it was a competition. They were not forced to participate, they chose to participate. Why didn't they just say no?

I agree, but there is more that must be said......
Yes that is true the cleaners did not have a gun held to their head and could have said no, but for some strange reason they went along with it. This does not condone the behavior of the boys who were responsible for it and they should be dealt with severely.

Something else that bothers me is that on Wednesday 27 February, if im not mistaken, during the 7pm news on etv the presenter interviewed two men(a white man and a black man) who are suppose to have insight into such incidents. Im not quite sure exactly who they are though. What I would like to say is that she handled the interview extremelly poorly. She attacked the white man to such an extent that it seemed as if she is under the impression that racists incidents like this do not happen in this country and that this isolated incident shows that its only whites who are racist.

Im a coloured and the fact of the matter is that racism occurs amongst all race groups and is rife in this country. To single out one race, which is what that presenter did, is completely unneccesary and wrong. Its sad that racist incidents are such a common thing in this country but thats the reality of the situation. That female presenter either needs to get her facts straight or choose her words and approach more carefully.

Egtheid bevraagteken

"Forced" you have GOT to be joking, right? Who the hell CHOOSES to drink urine? Come on.

What e.tv should do is...
Find out from the victims of this incident how they'd feel about it being shown nationally. It really should be their decision, surely? They are the ones who were degraded and humiliated.

Were there release forms signed?  by  Sizwe
They should not air as there were no release forms signed. Who owns the rights for the film, public, students, university? WHo?

Yes, Yes, Yes  by  Vees
EVT should screen the racist video because there is so much racism that we are not aware of. I am convinced there are other horrific stories besides this one.Racism will never fade away. As long as there are different cultures and nationalities there will always be racism. Racism causes division between people and their beliefs. We as people are the human race and with that comes racism.Racism is like a germ waiting to germinate.Deep within everybody there is that racist. The acts of racism is what causes shock because it leads you do behave in an inhumane way. We are all different and should respect each other irrespective of what we look like. We need to let go of whats been keeping us apart. Now is the time to put the past behind together all mankind. I always say Love has no colour and if you have love within you you would not be racist.
