It's all in the logo
I really like this! Branding should be all about who you are, what you stand for and how serious you are about doing what you do [how sustainable your business wants to be]. Your logo to some extent should encapsulate that. When people encounter your logo it should remind them of lots more than just what you sell!

Insider
Purge continues at Independent Media
As an insider working at the independent group it is a sad, sad time for everyone. The best people have already left and what few remain are simply trying to find a way to find work elsewhere. Circulations have dropped and the only people left are inexperienced or without options. It is inevitable that some great newspapers are going to close sooner rather than later and the South African landscape will be poorer for it. Internal intimidation is rife. However, the good news is that the demise of the IN group surely leaves a gap for a credible publication that could take advantage of the amazing talent out there looking for a job. In everything, even this, there is opportunity.

Hlaudi hands out thank-you bonuses to SABC staffers
I suppose, based on this article all currently suspended (and there are a lot according to sources) and individuals currently facing disciplinary action also received the "bonus"...?

Hlaudi hands out thank-you bonuses to SABC staffers
I really dont see why we have to be judgemental of this. SABC has been under pressure for such a long time and that affected the employees directly. we receive such a great service from sabc even though they were under such difficulty. I believe this is to boost employee moral and i say its well deserved.

Dogs can get their love and Epol
The Epol factory in Pretoria West upsets me. The dogs they use as security (Alsatians and Rottweilers) are left to run in cement "passages" all around the outside of the premises. They have a little roof to sit under, but we all know Pretoria heat in the summer. No grass, and just not the way to treat an animal as far as I am concerned. I wouldn't support their brand.

Prioritising responsive design
Hey Greg, nice article I am completely agree with your thoughts. Another fact about Responsive web design is that if you are building responsive design for your business or personal website with static information in most part then you have no need to build apps for various devices, helps to save both time and money.

Know what makes your brand succeed - or not
On different fields they have, they made a successful business, like IKEA which primarily promote furniture. Almost every household have their home furnished with IKEA stuff., that make sense a part of marketing strategy, when you talk about IKEA, no one doesn't know it.Regards.Darwin"@ "

Seven tips on how to maximise Mandela Day
Nelson Mandela changed the face of racial politics across the globe. His message should live on and all races should embrace their own voice as a people to stand against governments who would have us segregated and separated by race, class, gender or creed. Many minorities and social classes still fight to this day for equal pay and equal rights. I paid my own homage to Mandela shortly after his passing with a portrait of the world leader at where you can drop by and let us know how he’s influenced you!

Purge continues at Independent Media
So very, very sad. Good luck, Tony Weaver. Enjoyed working with you and your colleagues when I was Political Correspondent for Independent titles a couple of years ago. So glad I left before the real madness began. And there we were thinking the lack of newsroom investment during the O'Riley years was the worst thing to happen to the Group. Little did we know then that Survey would come along and systematically strip the papers of what journalistic integrity remained. Also sad that SA media is a small pool and therefore some quality media people being shunned may not find new homes. My advise to you: hard working SA journalists are sought after at international news organisations across the globe. Again, all the best.

Madonsela's findings call for proactive response
I could not agree more with Kazeka Kuse. Madonsela has my support and as her findings are legally binding they can not be ignored or swept under the carpet. Somebody needs to write the letter of protest that Kazeka mentioned and distribute it for signatures over the net. The letter needs to be drafted by someone that knows the constitution and can interpret it correctly.
