It is excellent to get these "fat cat" importers back to where they belong! The question is why should it impact the local consumers negatively if the levy increases the imported chicken cuts by 35,3% when they can buy it much cheaper from local producers? The dumping of agricultural products below production costs is in any case against the rules of the World Trade Organisation!!
I appreciate statement by our Honourable President Cyril Ramaphosa to get RID of PIT TOILET SYSTEM IN SCHOOLS. We have experience painful death cases for poor kids drowning and dying in PIT TOILETS. Flushable toilet is THE ONLY SOLUTION AS WE NEVER HEARD OF KIDS DROWNING IN FLUSHEABLE TOILETS. Let there be Flushaeble Toilets ALL OVER S.A. Even in rural areas. I wonder why the Government and municipalities not Constructing Sceptic Tanks in rural areas. a.s.a.p. Thank you our PRESIDENT to come ANSWER OUR PLEA.Rakgadi, from LIMPOPO, Lebowakgomo
"Businesses are critically dependent on these ecosystem services to produce their own products and services, and they also impact on biodiversity through their day-to-day activities, for example, through deforestation for the production of timber or through pollution from the release of waste products.." This is not deforestation - look up the definition of deforestation. In forestry and timber terms, this is harvesting, which like any other farming practice. And like most sustainable harvesting practices, new saplings are planted in their place. The forestry sector is well invested in biodiversity conservation, and has been for decades.

I am actually shocked at the low quality and the high price of online Digital Marketing courses available in South Africa. I started one course, and the quality was so bad (spelling, grammar, facts, definitions) - and the company agreed with me and the facts I presented - that they refunded the course fee. The course I subsequently took (rubber-stamped by a university) was a bit better but definitely not anywhere near university level. Both were about 10 weeks long, the one costing R 14 000, the other R 12 000.
This new trend of renting sectional units provide a good opportunity for investors to make side income without being burdened by a longer-term commitment plan. This new market would also be suitable to those who are keen on a short-term investment due to various reasons that could be hindering them from committing much longer. It provides a different approach to the whole rental industry.
This municipality hasn't paid Eskom since 2011, is >R2.7 Billion in arrears (Business Day 14/08) and therefore regularly gets cut off by Eskom. Who on earth authorised spending R50 million of taxpayers money for an industrial park with intermittent electricity?
Affordable housing is in demand regardless of the location even here in Brisbane. There will always be a certain group of audience that is keen on such a niche market. There has to be consistent supply within this area of interest to ensure that the ongoing demand is always met.

How can these kind of strict limitations, laws, by-laws and all other regultions to hinder the use of alternative energy ( and limit ESCOM's income) be laid down on the one hand and then we have the drive of proposed land conviscation without compensation on the other. Total draconic law on the one side and unlawfull taking of property on the other. How does that work?Question, and we know the answer: will these by-laws be applied in the less formal townships too?

Testing positive for cannabis does not automatically mean that the person is intoxicated or under the influence at the time they were tested. Case history for alcohol related matters has shown that it is not the consumption that is the problem, but the resulting intoxication that impairs the employee's ability to perform their work at the required standard.Unless these workers employment contracts specifically state that a positive reading would lead to dismissal, then they will all be reinstated by the courts.I believe that whilst their intentions are noble the employer has rushed into this and made an expensive mistake. Let's see what the courts say!
