I want to Start Something New...

I want to start something... There's always a thrill in doing this. Originating, being the founder, creating change, shifting the world out of its inertia and beginning a movement.

Of course, we have all started something - relationships, rumours, fights, games, mostly all of the above. Starting something is about creating change, I guess.

It has been said that that there are two types of people in the world: those that make change happen and those that change happens to. I have always hated being on the receiving end of change, especially when it adversely impacts me, so I have tried as much as I can to instigate it.

Sometimes it has made me want to change for changes sake, which surely can't be right. A friend of mine recently pointed out, "You always have to be different". He had a lot of insight for a nine-year old and it has stuck with me ever since.

Start something meaningful

Philosophy aside, I would like to start something meaningful, something that will make a positive difference to the world.

The elections got me thinking real hard about the plight of the people of Mzanzi, the key issues that we face and why it seems that there are never any really BIG ideas out there on what to do about HIV, poverty, crime and the sorry state of our education system. I wonder if the hobnobs in government ever have massive brainstorming sessions to come up with BIG IDEAS like we do in the corporate world.

I want to start something new and it has to be meaningful and make a difference to our world. I don't know what this will be yet, but I do know that deadlines always spur us into action, so, I will start something new on Tuesday, 7 July 2009.

I need a dedicated partner to run with my inventions-
I have read your plight, We have so much in common the only difference is I'm a design engineer with the BOTTOM OF THE PIRAMID POEPLE in mind, I want to help the poor not just to give them free food or clean water but to teach then the basics that we were supposed to have been tought by our parents and their parents before. Basic needs how to get clean water how to grow some crops.
Now in this day and age poeple in the cities dont look at other poeple as people anymore but as a way to get to the top.
If we stand together and think about others the way we think about our self we can change not just a comunity but the world.

How we can help one anouther, I designed a solar powered small house lighting system, that is both practical and efficient with the DIY aspect so simplified a 2 year old can install it. It supplies 5 LED lights that can be ceiling mounted in any house.

My system will help those who are currently studing at candel light or who use CURBON based fuel for lighting witch is both poisonous and can start a fire if left un attended.

Like I said I need a dedicated partner that can and want to get the various governments involved to sponcer the projects.
I designed the system with the RDP (rural developement program) in mind but so far got just we like it and need it, but no person has dedicated time to this. what is want and need with out do....

I want to start something new-
I think it's great that you've chosen to focus on people , rural people in my opinion are really the last thought on anyone's mind sometimes .You're not obligated to do this but none the less , you've made a commitment .they'll be challenges I'm sure , especially when it comes to getting the receivers themselves to commit but none the less we all have to play our part , it is our Africa , our people . If you plant a seed it will grow , maybe not today or tomorrow but it will grow. Thumbs up to you . Posted on 4 Aug 2009 14:08
