    Euronews signs deals with two TV channels in Spain

    LYON, FRANCE / ARAGON, MURCIA, SPAIN: Euronews is breaking into the Spanish free-to-air DTT following the agreements with two regional TV stations, Aragón TV (ATV) in Aragon and 7RM in Murcia to partially distribute its signal and content to almost 1 million homes combined. With the deal, the recently-created Euronews Network is also expanding with ATV as a new member, the first Spanish partner of the Network.
    Euronews signs deals with two TV channels in Spain

    On 8 January ATV has started broadcasting Euronews from 0945 to 1130 from Monday to Friday and from 0730 to 2200 at weekends. Besides broadcasting Euronews signal, as a member of the Euronews Network, ATV has also access to a wide selection of services and close operational cooperation such as the use of Euronews-edited news pieces and magazines, the direct connection with Euronews' newsroom and its permanent and special correspondents benefiting from Euronews editorial bureau with 400 journalists from 25 different nationalities.

    ATV is a public regional TV station featuring general programming that currently reaches almost 500,000 DTT homes with an average share audience of 11.3%, one of the highest audience ratings within the Spanish regional TV stations.

    The regional TV channel of Murcia, the public broadcaster 7RM has been broadcasting Euronews since November. 7RM broadcasts Euronews live 9 hours a day: from 0600 to 1200 and from 1600 to 1900. 1.5 million citizens in Murcia, half a million homes, can watch Euronews live daily on 7RM with news bulletins updated every 30 minutes and up to 40 exclusive magazines and reports.

    Both TV broadcasters, ATV and 7RM, are members of FORTA, the Federation of Regional TV stations that bring together 12 public regional TV channels reaching around 14 million homes with an average share audience of 9.8% in 2012.
