Celtel Nigeria April Buzz game sparks the mind

Starfish Mobile International, together with Celtel Nigeria, have created a new and amusing SMS based campaign known as the April Buzz game. The latest campaign is ideal for stimulating the minds of the vast and patriotic Nigerian mobile market.

This campaign is a direct follow-up to the country's previous Easter Race campaign. There are great digital prizes to be given away including Laptops, Playstation 3 game consoles and Celtel airtime.

To participate in the latest mobile game created and developed by the Starfish Mobile team, subscribers are being prompted by a broadcast message to send the keyword Buzz to 31040. They then receive a return message with instructions on how to play the general knowledge quiz game and also the choice of categories from which they can answer questions from. The players can select from their favorite category that include Sport, Geography, History, People and Entertainment.

“The questions we have developed for the Mobile Buzz game were created to test the subscribers knowledge across the different categories selected and we hope that it stimulates and creates lots of fun for those participating”, said Kishenthree Naidoo, Content Manager for Starfish Mobile International.

Amongst the many multiple choice questions will be a selection based on Nigerian general knowledge information, therefore patriotic citizens will have a chance to showcase their skills. The participants will need to answer correctly to continue to the next question. Each correct answer is allocated 10 points while an incorrect answer will deduct 5 Points.

In addition to playing the game, there's also a chance to refer other users to the campaign in order to gain an additional 30 points.

“Celtel Nigeria wanted to create a campaign that stimulated their subscribers to participate in a knowledge based interactive environment and we feel that this has been achieved with great success,” said Jonathan Hoehler, Chief Technical Officer of Starfish Mobile International.
