Quo Vadis handles Constitution Hill Trust
Issued by: Quo Vadis Communications

The Constitution Hill Trust has appointed Quo Vadis Communication to handle its media liaison and public relations with immediate effect, on a pro bono basis.

Announcing this, Quo Vadis' Theo Coggin said the company was honoured to have been charged with the onerous responsibility of promoting the public image of one of the nation's most valuable institutions. "On a personal note, I spent most of my working life prior to 1994 in various institutions fighting for a democratic and just South African Society. So did my partner. On a professional note, each member of staff is deeply committed to a just, tolerant and democratic future for our country. We shall ensure that ideals for which the Constitution Hill Trust stands are promoted by each one of us," Coggin said.

Quo Vadis' first intervention on behalf of the trust was the Inaugural Constitution Hill Trust Awards' Dinner at Constitution Hill on the 26th June 2008.

Three of the country's best-known advocates of democracy, Albertina Sisulu, Advocate George Bizos and former Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court, Arthur Chaskalson were honoured at the dinner.

The night also saw the launch of Constitution Hill Stamps and first day covers. The edition is the first in an exciting series of unique postage stamps that celebrate the exhilirating architecture of the Constitutional Court of South Africa.

The Constitutional Hill Trust is a private entity that promotes constitutionality, human rights and democracy through educational programmes that are conducted at the Constitution Hill; it also establishes a dialogue between communities, tourists, schools and media.

The trust aims to preserve and develop Constitution Hill as a heritage site symbolising South Africa's constitutional democracy. It provides funding for educational programmes for school-going youth with the aim of educating and creating awareness to the younger generation of the past as well as to present Constitution Hill as the home of South Africa's Constitution of the guarantor of Human Rights. The Trust is responsible for raising funds in order to ensure continuation of the Hill as a tourist/educational site and to raise funds for other public benefit organisations that do significant work in the South African Society.
