The interactive networking session is set to bring together some of the country's most eminent investment professionals and economists to debate the future of finance in South Africa and beyond. Experts in investment and economics are invited to attend the workshops to examine the unique issues affecting the financial landscape in South Africa and Africa as a whole, and to develop possible practical solutions to best address these issues.

The keynote speaker, Tendai Musikavanhu, CFA and CEO Old Mutual Global Index Trackers, will discuss the challenges and opportunities facing Africa as the continent looks to increase its momentum on the global investment field and gain the confidence of the international investment community.
The session will also include an update on CFA Institute initiatives and how these relate to the local market, presented by Delme Thompson, director of Conferences at CFA Institute.

    Dynamic markets

"Following our successful 'Putting Investors First' opening ceremony at the JSE on 20 May 2014, we are extremely proud to be hosting this prestigious event in South Africa on behalf of CFA Institute," says Philip Bradford, president of CFA Society South Africa.

"The event promises to be a forum for practitioners to learn from the leading thinkers in our business as they provoke discussion, encourage debate, and reveal insights about the future of our financial landscape and the opportunities that exist for investors on the continent. Africa is home to some of the world's most dynamic emerging markets and the continent is increasingly seen as an attractive business and investment hub. We are thus excited to host this regional networking session and look forward to the insights that will emerge from our collective discussions," concludes Bradford.

The event is open to all industry professionals, not only to CFA charter holders or members of CFA Society South Africa.
