Tanzania Standard (Newspapers) (TSN) Limited, publishers of the Daily News, Sunday News and HabariLeo, will open a sub-bureau in Moshi, Kilimanjaro region to bring services closer to people, TSN acting managing editor, Gabriel Nderumaki said.
He told Kilimanjaro Regional Commissioner (RC), Leonidas Gama in his office when he paid a courtesy call that TSN wishes to work closer with local authorities in the region.

Nderumaki who was accompanied by TSN acting finance manager, Vicky Mwambola and Arusha sales representative, Edes Mushi said that the company is proactive and not reactive in its approach in order to push development agenda in our communities.

He assured the RC that sensational news will not be tolerated in TSN publications, noting that the company is keen on unearthing pressing issues of public interest. Nderumaki said that TSN is currently promoting readership of HabariLeo which has wider readership in rural areas compared to the Daily News and Sunday News because of the language barrier, and thus the need to work closer with leaders at the grassroots level.

The RC said that they welcome the move to establish an office in the region and assured the company of support from the regional government. He said that TSN has a good reputation due to its coverage of development issues and promised to ensure that all government departments in the region get daily copies.
