Keeping an eye on Africa

Pamuzinda Productions is opening the eyes of the world to the political, economic and social issues facing Rwanda through its current affairs programme Eye on Africa, presented by Daniel Makokera.
Eye on Africa provides interviews shot on location with key decision makers.  Each program highlights a different theme and attempts to take the viewer to the heart of the issue with never before seen footage.

The 12-part season for 2007 includes programs on the youth culture in Rwanda, the reform of prisoners, women in Parliament, the political dispute between France and Rwanda, attempts to limit family sizes and tourism opportunities.  The hour-long programs are aimed at viewers who have an interest in learning more about Africa through stories told by Africans.

Through its programs, the Johannesburg-based production company, which began operations about five years ago, aims to highlight aspects of life in Africa that are not widely shown.

Watching Africa at work

The company as also put together a unique six-part series that attempts to unpack a number of key development concerns in a way that highlights the practical steps that are been taken to address the challenges facing the continent.

Development issues are at the heart of the lives of many of the people in southern Africa today, and Africa at Work is a magazine-style program shot on location in six countries in the region.  Through exciting visuals and interviews with a range of stakeholders, from community members to Heads of State, the series looks at the issues of food security, migration, peace and security, good governance, civil society and regional integration.

Like the other programs by Pamuzinda Productions, Africa at Work is the news of Africa and Africans, being told by Africans.
