Nestled in the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Stone Town, the 58-room DoubleTree by Hilton Zanzibar - Stone Town offers a perfect base from which to experience the Island of Zanzibar. The hotel marks the brand's third hotel to open in the country.

"Stone Town is a city of prominent historical and artistic importance, and we are proud to enter as the first internationally-branded hotel in the city," said John Greenleaf, global head, DoubleTree by Hilton.

"Our newest hotel offers a perfect marriage of culture and comfort, underscored by DoubleTree by Hilton's renowned culture of CARE, which stands for 'Create A Rewarding Experience'. CARE centers on the brand's warm, welcoming guest service culture that begins with the presentation of a freshly baked chocolate chip cookie upon arrival, and continues through the rest of the guest's stay."

    The 'Spice Island'

The island of Zanzibar is known as 'Spice Island' for its long-standing association with the spice industry. Stone Town, the oldest section of Zanzibar, is made up of ancient stone houses, palaces from the Omani days, carved wooden doors and a treasure trove of bazaars and galleries. The design of DoubleTree by Hilton Zanzibar - Stone Town reflects the rich architecture and influences of the travellers and settlers who traded with the Islanders.

Double Tree by Hilton Zanzibar - Stone Town features a selection of 58 rooms, 13 Deluxe, 1 Accessible, 41 Standard rooms, and 3 One Bedroom Suites, all beautifully decorated with traditionally hand-carved furniture and featuring 40-inch TVs and ergonomic desks in every room. The hotel's oceanfront location marks the setting for everything from leisure getaways to conferences and social events for up to 200 guests. The hotel's Stone City location marks the setting for the conference center that offers eight versatile meeting rooms and breakout spaces, a complimentary business center, A/V resources and full catering services. The top floor of the conference center is a tranquil, open space, flooded with natural light and offering views over the city. Complimentary WiFi is available in guest rooms.

DoubleTree by Hilton Zanzibar - Stone Town also offers cuisine to suit every palate. At Taarab Restaurant and Lounge, the hotel's rooftop dining venue, guests can savor a menu of contemporary Western fare as well as traditional Zanzibar flavors while taking in views of the sea and the old city. At Chai Kahawa, a casual café located by the conference center, guests can enjoy international teas and coffees with local snacks.
