Eskom has confirmed that its CEO Brian Dames will deliver the opening address on the 22 May 2012 at the annual African Utility Week conference and exhibition, set to take place between 21-24 May at the Nasrec Expo Centre in Johannesburg, South Africa. The event will once again gather together an estimated 5 000 power and utility experts from all over the world.
Eskom will once again be a partner at the event and will have a strong presence in the conference sessions which will cover all aspects of the utility service sector on the continent. Conference tracks include metering, renewables, water, large industry, infrastructure investment, transmission and distribution/smart grids, generation and waste management.

Event director, Claire Volkwyn says Eskom have been a key partner for many years. "We're very proud of the longstanding relationship we have built up with our national utility over the course of the twelve years that African Utility Week has grown into THE industry event."

She continues to say, "Eskom's management understands our drivers and objectives. They understand that we need to increase knowledge, empower our utility sector and encourage information sharing across the continent. Thanks to their support over the years, we continue to gather utilities, regulators and service providers to network, discuss, argue and plan for the future of this continent. It is the only way forward and Eskom does not only play the pivotal role in this country but is a great force in Africa as well."
