Lady Gaga has picked up four MTV Europe Music Awards in Belfast, winning the best female, best song, best video and biggest fans awards for her song Born This Way according to the Mail & Guardian and a string of other online media outlets.

Young Canadian sensation Justin Bieber was among the other multiple winners, picking up the best pop act and the award for the top male singer. Bieber's girlfriend Selena Gomez, an actress and singer, hosted the MTV event.
Los Angeles rock group Thirty Seconds to Mars won two awards: one for the best alternative act and also for the best world stage act, as did Bruno Mars, who was honoured as the best new act and the best "push" artist who had been nominated by MTV as an up-and-coming talent. For more:
