Preditor CMS, the CMS framework for the publishing industry, has received its next major update with the release of version 1.5. The release focuses on syndication, tighter Adobe InDesign integration and enhanced web-rendering capabilities. For Preditor customers, the release allows them to further optimise revenue potential and increase workflow efficiencies across all three distribution channels – print, web and mobile.
“This release cements our reputation for focused publishing solutions that deliver on specific objectives that traditional 'Web CMS' applications don't consider,” says Prefix Technologies Chief Architect Sam Hutchinson. “We've worked incredibly hard on improving the editorial workflow process between Preditor and Adobe InDesign to ensure design flexibility yet maintain data integrity.”
Preditor 1.5 enhances a publisher's ability to create and manage new revenue streams. The syndication manager allows any administrators to quickly set up paid-for XML feeds that can be procured by other publishers, commercial clients and individuals on a subscription basis.
Recognising that many publishers are source content from news agencies and content aggregators, Preditor now brings inbound XML feeds from content suppliers directly into the workflow process for editing and publishing. The system also ensures that any embargos or content expiry agreements with content suppliers are adhered to.
Preditor 1.5 also doesn't drag its feet when competing with the web CMS crowd on portal functionality. The team has done significant work on the web-rendering engines themselves and added numerous new widgets to enable administrator to easily add functionality and interactivity around the content.
“Preditor is such an exciting product, and our current road show has been a real eye-opener for prospective customers – many of whom still have distinct systems and process for print, web and mobile formats,” comments Sales Manager Paulo Moreira. “Having firmly established ourselves locally, we're in the process of planning our international sales and marketing strategy.”
