The mobile version of AfricaNews.com, http://m.africanews.com, reportedly makes the company one of the few African media outlets to both source and publish content via mobile devices.

The mobile website is said to be the only mobile service dedicated to broad news on Africa. The website is optimised for mobile devices and provides an overview of the latest news submitted by the more than 400 AfricaNews.com reporters who report from 35 African countries. Visitors of the mobile website can also send in their own news tips and contributions to the editorial team by using the ‘News Tip' application.

This mobile website was created by GNR8, a student company of the Hogeschool Inholland, based in Haarlem, the Netherlands. The students work on different creative projects for companies in their region.

AfricaNews.com

AfricaNews.com is an interactive community, sharing news, photos, opinions, videos, mobile reports and the untold stories by African people. All content on the website is created by African reporters. Media professionals are free to send in their stories. The editorial team of Africanews.com in Accra, Ghana supervises all content in the news section. The company has previously been recognised for its efforts in mobile reporting, receiving a nomination from the Webby Awards in 2008.
