Talk show for the City of Kings

Bulawayo-based Amakhosi Television Studios at Amakhosi Cultural Centre will next month start filming six episodes of the city's first television talk show. The talk show, called "City Life", will be produced and directed by Cont Mhlanga.
City Life is an educational, informative and entertaining 13-part show that brings out how each one of the citizens of Bulawayo contributes every day to create a bad, ugly and dangerous city to live for the inhabitants.

"It's our city, our life, our future, our stories. This is Amakhosi's first talk show.

"We have waited for someone to come up with a talk show from Bulawayo but it looks like there are no takers for this type of television content," said Mhlanga.

The show will host on each episode 29 intelligent people with intelligent issues drawn from each of Bulawayo's wards.

There will be panellists to give depth to the discussions. Observers will be allowed into the show during filming but will not be allowed to talk on camera.

It is by design a marketing and promotions platform for anyone who feels that they have what it takes to make a good city life out of Bulawayo.

"The show will audition for a talk show host as from the 1st of June and if you are between the ages of 20 and 45 years and are fluent in local languages, you are welcome to audition.

"If you are 16 years and above you are free to register to be part of the show and talk on camera about that intelligent issue burning inside you that you see happening in the ward you live in. You will collect a list of themes that will be discussed in the first six episodes as you register at Amakhosi Cultural Centre as from the 1st of June."

Registration closes on 14 June 2012.

"City Life" is Amakhosi Cultural Centre's second television production to be launched this year since the centre announced the reopening of its production department at the beginning of the year.

This talk show comes hard of the heels after the launch of the drama series Nyaminyami that is currently at pre-production stage.
