The “hardware” itself is small and light. Add to that 12.1 megapixels and an intelligent auto scene (or mode) selector, as well as image stabilising, face detection and even “smile timing” — which will take the shot only when the subject smiles — and you have a really capable machine in your hands.
The projector works well, too. You can enter projector mode with a single click of a button, and adjust the focus quickly with a manual sliding bar on the top of the camera. It can project both still and movie images, and the clarity holds up well, though you need to dim the lights for best results.
But before you buy, ask yourself: do you really need to project your images to share them, and will you utilise the functionality enough to justify the price tag? If the answer is yes, then you won't be disappointed. But it's an expensive toy, if you're only getting it for the cool factor.
