LG provides a creative canvas for local artists

LG Electronics is using local artists work to launch their new Artcool airconditioning range to the industry in September. The refreshingly different art exhibition will feature the creative works of six of South Africa's leading contemporary artists, at the Bell-Roberts Art Gallery, 8-11 of September 2004.

The exhibition evolved from LG's successful television commercial that featured an Artcool air-conditioner being mistaken for an actual work of art, on the gallery wall. The exhibition entitled "Refreshing Alternatives" will see this concept brought to life, featuring the artworks of Paul du Toit, Kevin Brand, Donovan Ward, Gina Waldman, Ernestine White and Matthew Hindley.

In line with the theme of 'Refreshing Alternatives', the artists will uniquely transform each panel into an expressive artwork, using the front panel of the air-conditioner as their creative canvas.

Refreshing Alternatives will serve to launch the Artcool range to Cape Town's leading Architects, Property Developers, Interior Designers, Specifiers and the media.

"Artcool is a genuine innovation. We are delighted to bring to market such an 'ahead-of-the-curve product, which has already grown into a top-seller in the overseas markets. Contractors can now offer their clients something which has leading technology and distinctive styling," says Ken Jeong, air-conditioning Product Manager at LG Electronics South Africa.
