Established in 1982, the competition honours the most innovative work in radio broadcasting with entries from radio stations, networks, and independent producers from around the globe. And New York Festivals Radio Awards categories mirror today's emerging global trends in the broadcast industry. New Categories launched this year include: Best Legal Reporting; Current Affairs; Social Issues; Best Interview; Best Performance by an Actor/Actress; Best Sports Format; Student Drama; Entertainment Program Promo; and additional satellite and online categories for Drama, Comedy, and Religious Programs.
This year's competition received entries from 36 countries around the world and the 2013 Grand Jury selected 233 entries as Finalists. All Radio Finalists went on to the medal round of judging to determine Gold, Silver, and Bronze award winners. New York Festivals International Radio Program and Promos Awards would like to invite you to join us as our guest to celebrate the winners at the awards ceremony featuring trophy-winning guest presenters and clips of the World's Best Radio Programs & Promos including the Grand Trophy, Broadcaster of the Year, UNDPI, Gold, Silver and Bronze Medal-winning programs.
Every year New York Festivals in collaboration with the United Nations Department of Public Information honours programs that focus on global concerns and best exemplify the aims and ideals of the United Nations. Those programs will be awarded the coveted 2013 UNDPI Award.
