Vega School of Brand Leadership exposes school learners to the world of branding

17 May 2012 11:42Submit a commentBizLike
Teams of learners from just over forty schools across the country will descend on Vega School of Brand Leadership campuses in Johannesburg, Pretoria, Durban and Cape Town on Saturday the 19th of May to take part in VIBE (Vega Interschool Brand Experience). This is a new initiative by Vega to expose young people to the world of branding and what it would be like to build brands in an innovative way.
Schools will compete as 'mini brand consultancies' to South African companies looking for fresh ideas. The challenge isn't about who is the greatest artist, designer, marketer or accountant - it is about thinking differently - being innovative and doing things the client would not necessarily think of.

Prizes for the regional winners include a notice board for the school, Apple i-Pods for each team member and a voucher for a Vega Photography Short Learning Programme. The top five schools in each region will be guaranteed a place in next year's challenge and the National winner will be announced on Friday, June the 1st. This school will receive a R30 000-00 voucher from Vega which may be redeemed against any full qualification or short learning programme, as well as an Apple i-Pad.

The brands involved in this programme include i-Store, Blackberry, Nando's, DealClick and the Independent Institute of Education.

Schools participating in each region are as follows:

Johannesburg: Randburg Hoërskool, Trinity House, Abbotts College Northcliff, Parktown Girls High School, Crawford College Lonehill, Redhill School, Hoërskool Linden, Greenside High School, Bishops Bavin School, St Francis College.
