Submit short films for intl competition

The ninth edition of shnit International Short Film Festival will take place 5-9 October 2011 as an international platform for filmmakers, scriptwriters, producers and cinephiles - a transnational film festival in Cape Town, Bern, Cologne and Vienna.
Submit short films for intl competition

The festival is intended to be an ideal platform for filmmakers to show their work to an interested audience, compete in the international competition and in their own national competition.

In addition to the existing three international jury awards (Smart Joe, Magic Jack and Long John), there is an International Audience Prize. This year will be the first to have an award category for each host country, Best Swiss-Made, German-Made, Austrian-Made and South African-made shorts.

Free entries close on 1 July 2011 and must be submitted internationally through the online webform at www.shnit.org, or through www.reelport.com or www.shortfilmdepot.com. There is no single application for the national competition; all the films will be chosen from the submitted films to the international competition shnit-Open 2011.

    Kaapse Bobotie entries

During this second year of hosting shnit in Cape Town, the organisers have expanded its Kaapse Bobotie programme to include a larger and more diverse variety of local treats, including a special focus on music videos. Entries for this non-competition category are locally curated. Please submit these through the webform at www.shnit.org and select Cape Town - South Africa.
