The Wedding Expo Cake Challenge with Clover and Sasko Flour is the must attend pavilion at the Expo to see the fabulous entries and the winners. You'll gain inspiration for your own wedding cake and stand a chance to win product from Clover and Sasko Flour by voting for your favourite cake!
The competition, which is open to all cake makers, will require that entrants submit a dummy wedding cake and piece of real cake for tasting, together with a comprehensive description their cake and the motivation for their design. All cakes will be submitted to a blind judging by a panel of judges which will include highly respected representatives from the culinary and cake decorators industry, sponsors and the media.
The judges for the competition are Professor Elain Vlok, Clover SA, Richard Kreuzhuber, Technical Representative, Sasko Flour, Franco, The South African Cake Decorators Guild (SACDG), Jenny Kay, Angela Day, The Star Newspaper and Nicole Allen, Wedding Inspirations magazine.
The Cake and Coffee Café will once again be serving cakes from Annica's Designer Cakes and will be introducing the Cake Alchemy concept which pairs scrumptious cakes with a variety of alcoholic beverages including champagne and whisky. This is the perfect place to have a break from wedding planning, strategise your next move whilst enjoying a coffee and delicious cake or experience the Cake Alchemy.
The Wedding Expo supports The Pink Drive and you will be able to support them too by visiting the mobile screening unit that will be at the Expo. The unit will conduct confidential breast cancer tests and there will be an opportunity to buy fundraising merchandise, ranging from beaded pink ribbons to jewellery.
