Dive for the best deals at the National Boat Show

6 Aug 2009 17:42Submit a commentBizLike
If you've never dived before, the Dive Expo is an ideal opportunity to explore everything the diving lifestyle has to offer - whether you want to discover deep, mysterious reefs or snorkel in the sunshine with dolphins, you could win this lifestyle at the National Boat Show, 14 - 16 August at the Coca-Cola dome.
The National Boat Show, in association with the Saturday Star presents the “Win a Scuba Diving Lifestyle competition” valued at more than R40 000. This prize includes a seven-night stay for two at the Michamvi Watersports Resort in Zanzibar plus return flights (courtesy of Holiday Tours), diving gear from Cressi and a comprehensive open water diving instruction course from Buccaneer Diving and PADI.

Zanzibar - the spice island with its dreamy white-sailed dhows, ancient Islamic ruins and beautiful coastline - is an integral part of the Holiday Tours Indian Ocean Islands product offering. Situated on the island's east coast, the tranquil Michamvi Watersports Resort hosts a full time professional watersports director to help both the novice and experienced enjoy all that the Zanzibar waters offer.

Buccaneer Diving and PADI will sponsor two PADI open water courses including all training materials, and Cressi Sub will sponsor two full sets of soft gear including wetsuits, fins, masks and snorkels - giving winners the opportunity to start their new diving lifestyle kitted out in the best equipment. Entry forms are available in the Star and Saturday Star, or at the show.

At the Dive Expo, find out about the stunning dive/holiday destinations dotted around our African coastline such as Mozambique's Barra Reef, this is a wonderful holiday destination for the whole family where you can do a “try dive” in the shallow lagoon waters before you venture into deeper territory.

If you're an experienced diver, the show could be the perfect opportunity to take your diving even further - into the realm of underwater photography. You can pick up an underwater housing for your regular digital camera for a few thousand Rand or get a decent underwater camera from about R5000.

Scubapro will showcase their range of impressive underwater cameras as well as the latest in scuba diving equipment - such as the Seawing Nova pivot-style fin blades, which give you the manoeuvrability of the most stealthy underwater mammals.

Cressi will also showcase their range of scuba diving, spearfishing, snorkelling and swim products. Be sure to visit their stand for your exclusive show discount vouchers and meet the Cressi girls. You can also opt to be measured free of charge should you want a special tailored wetsuit.

There will also be a host of other top diving brands represented including: Aquatec SA, Scuba Scene, Aqua Divers, Boney Fish, Naui SA and more.

Learn to dive today

As a visitor to the show you will have the very exciting opportunity of trying a scuba dive at the show. The “learn to dive” zone will feature a confined pool area in which you can try out a scuba dive under the direct supervision of a PADI dive master/ instructor.

The try dive pool session includes professional instruction, scuba gear hire, a Discover Scuba Diving briefing and brochure, a training log, a PADI certificate and PADI registration.

The Learn to Dive Today experience is valued at R350 - make sure you get your FREE Discover Scuba voucher inside the National Boat Show guide!
