What is the fund used for?- Throughout the year pupils from small town schools are accommodated in Die Burger-Strandhuis and taken on educational day trips in and around the city. Die Burger-Kersfonds raises funds for the maintenance and upkeep of Die Burger-Strandhuis.
- Children identified by welfare institutions such as Badisa, the ACVV and Mfesane get the opportunity to visit Cape Town on an educational tour for five days during the school holidays.
- At the end of each year Die Burger-Strandhuis also hosts a youth leadership conference in conjunction with the Education Department of the Western Cape.
