November 1 lands Mascom Wireless account and joins Africa's young emerging business leaders

November 1 will provide support to Mascom Wireless in developing branding requirements for dealerships, service centres, for special events and promotions. Grant Potgieter, managing director at November 1, says this fits within their own growth strategy into Africa: “We have already developed considerable networks within Africa, including Benin, Togo, Zambia, Swaziland and Uganda. We offer support and opportunity to clients who want to carry their brand successfully, and professionally, into Africa.” Ultimately November 1 aims to have 15 agencies within Africa, to service clients based in South Africa and beyond.

November 1 provides the full spectrum of branding services, from conception through to design, and printing through to installation. In five years since inception, the company has grown in size and capacity, expanding its focus from indoor and outdoor branding into the arena of design and promotion. The November 1 vision is to be the leading below the line branding company in South Africa by 2015, if not Africa.

Another young leader, Mascom has in just ten years grown its market share to 70% and have in recognition of their status adopted the slogan “Number one because of you”. In February 1998 Mascom Wireless became the first cellular service provider in Botswana after receiving a 15-year licence from the Botswana Telecommunications Authority. MTN later acquired a 44% (now 53%) share in Mascom in 2005.
In 2003 Mascom became the first in the world to introduce a Visa direct top up recharge service and in 2005 were elected best cellphone service provider and awarded a silver arrow certificate by PMR Africa.
