As part of the hotel’s commitment to community upliftment, Radisson Blu Le Vendome chose to spend their 67 minutes at Three Anchor Bay Old Age Home.
“In spending time with the residents, entertaining and talking to them, we hoped to learn about their lives and gain some insight into our history as South Africans. They are our living history and we need to celebrate them, their experiences and what they have lived through,” said Clinton Thom, general manager of Radisson Blu Le Vendome Hotel.
“The Radisson Blu hotel group believes in giving back and operates by the words of Nelson Mandela: “What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead”.”
And retirees enjoyed socialising with the hotel’s staff members just as much as the staff enjoyed being there. “We had a blast listening to their amazing life stories and a definite highlight was talking to the 98-year-old lady who joined in on the festivities,” added Thom.
