Graffiti takes mobile media to new heights with new taxi top advertising

Issued by: Graffiti
Vehicle branding specialist, Graffiti, has recently added taxi top media to its portfolio of mobile media offerings - a New York-style taxi top advertising medium that is fitted on top of metered taxi vehicles around South Africa.
The double-sided, illuminated medium sits atop the vehicle where, at eye level it is highly visible to passing consumers in daily traffic as well as at busy, high-volume consumer points such as airports and shopping centres. As production and flighting costs are low, the taxi tops allow for frequent changes in creative execution, allowing advertisers to get a different message across with each new execution at a very affordable rate.

Comments Dean Rakusin, Head of Graffiti's Taxi Top Division, “This advertising concept is new and unique to South Africa and therefore represents a distinctive, eye-catching way of spreading your advertising message to your target audience in the most cost-efficient manner. The reach is substantial and therefore provides a widespread platform to ensure vast market penetration and valuable contact with customers. And the rate of recurrence of vehicles creates ultimate brand receptiveness.”

Insurance pioneers, 1st for Women Insurance Brokers, have once again taken the initiative and are the first advertisers to make use of the taxi top advertising medium. The branded taxi cabs form part of a metered taxi service that is aimed exclusively at women and is also 100 percent owned, managed and driven by women.

Robyn Farrell, Managing Director of 1st for Women Insurance Brokers, explains: “In a country where crime against women is unacceptably high, we thought it was time that someone thought about us and our safety in the area of public transport. Cabs for Women offer a safe and reliable service which allows women to feel comfortable and secure.”

“The branded taxi tops have helped Cabs for Women in ensuring that the cabs stand out and attract attention,” explains Marion Woolf, Managing Director of Cabs for Women.

The taxi top advertising is currently available in Johannesburg, Pretoria, Cape Town and the Garden Route with Durban and a number of other regions to be launched imminently.
