Seven birthday candles will be blown when The Marketing Kraal turns seven on 1 April 2014. This dynamic and vibrant outdoor advertising and media company first came onto the South African outdoor media space on 1 April 2007.
After having been retrenched from his job as marketing director of Uthingo Management, the first licensed operator of the SA National Lottery, Lebona Moleli started The Marketing Kraal armed only with his laptop, a PowerPoint presentation and a small network of key marketing professionals he worked with in the industry.
The company has grown over the years from a small media owner with a few sites in Gauteng to a proudly South African black-owned and managed outdoor media enterprise with over 400 sites across the nine provinces of South Africa.
The company has provided cost-effective outdoor media solutions to its clients in order to create and sustain brand awareness and business growth. The company's media platforms, which are mainly in the townships and semi-urban areas, include billboards, building wraps, wall murals, container billboards and container ads.
"Our key competitive advantage has been the 360 degrees knowledge and understanding of the township market. Our sites are selected strategically for our clients based on the marketing and communications objectives of the campaign," says CEO, Lebona Moleli
Over the seven years the company has built very strong relationships with its clients, suppliers, site owners, employees and all key stakeholders in the business. The company is delighted to have worked with some of South African blue chip brands including e.tv, Cell C, Gidani, Eskom, Telkom, Media 24, Metro FM, Tshwane Municipality and Johannesburg Water to name but a few.
The company is also proud to have contributed towards the socio-economic development and upliftment of South African communities through its site-owner fee programme where it has committed at least 10% of its media revenue to site-owners. The company, through its CSI programme has also supported NGO's such as Tshwaranang Hospice in Midrand and Philisa Isizwe Foundation in Diepslot.
"We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our valued stakeholders for their support over the past seven years and we look forward to many more successful years ahead," concludes Lebona.
