Business Day: SABC signs three-year deal for soccer coverage... According to the report, Bafana Bafana, Banyana Banyana and the SA Under-23 national side fixtures will receive preference for the next 36 months in terms of the deal signed with the South African Football Association (Safa). In commenting on the deal, SABC group CE Lulama Mokhobo is quoted as saying that "The days of blackouts are over. Not even a tsunami will move it."
We're not sure about that: tsunamis will shift just about anything, but here's hoping that the national broadcaster's less than riveting coverage in recent times, of the country's favourite sport, will be a tsunami in its own right.
