1. Where do you live, work and play?

Goliath: Robindale in Randburg; everywhere (I'm a freelancer); and also everywhere, because I'm a freelancer.

Hirsch: Cape Town; Joburg and Cape Town; and Cape Town.

2. What's your claim to fame?

Goliath: Stand-up comedian.

Hirsch: I'm hosting the Great South African Bake Off on BBC Lifestyle, DStv channel 174, and The Anne Hirsch Show on YouTube.

3. Describe your career so far.

Goliath: Good. Lucky. I work my ass off.

Hirsch: Fun. Stressful at the end of the month. Worth it.

4. Tell us a few of your favourite things.

Goliath: Hanging out with my sister. Sneakers. Wimpy bacon and cheese burgers. Kwaito.

Hirsch: That song - the one in The Sound of Music.

5. What do you love about your industry?

Goliath: Spontaneity - you never know what's going to happen and you learn every day.

Hirsch: Celebrities and how easy it is to become one. The opportunities we have to carve out our own spot.

6. What are a few pain points your industry can improve on?

Goliath: Ridiculous expectations - clients wanting comedy in a situation that's not conducive to having it there.

Hirsch: Not trying to compete with the international market. Making content we can be proud of.

7. Describe your average workday, if such a thing exists.

Goliath: Up at 6.30am. I try and do some gym or yoga and then check mail and social media before 9am. During the day? Meetings, voiceovers, writing, reading and research.

Hirsch: I get up at 7am. I pretend to work by looking at social media, then I try and hunt down celebrities for the show. I also do a lot of creative work for agencies and some corporate stuff in the evenings.

8. What are the tools of your trade?

Goliath: My brain and my good looks.

Hirsch: My ability to laugh at myself and not take myself too seriously.

9. Who is getting it right in your industry?

Goliath: Trevor Noah, Loyiso Madinga, Tats Nkonzo - guys with different channels that they're utilising well.

Hirsch: I feel obliged to say "Donovan Goliath" because he's sitting next to me. Also, people who are making their own work.

10. What are you working on right now?

Goliath: The Great South African Bake Off.

Hirsch: The Great South African Bake Off and season four of The Anne Hirsch Show.

11. Tell us some of the buzzwords floating around in your industry at the moment, and some of the catchphrases you utter yourself.

Goliath: "Daily" and "Show".

Hirsch: "On fleek" and "selfie stick".

12. Where and when do you have your best ideas?

Goliath: In the shower, while I'm driving and on aeroplanes.

Hirsch: At 3am. I always wake up in an anxious panic, scurrying around to find something to write on.

13. What's your secret talent/party trick?

Goliath: Celebrity impressions.

Hirsch: I have no secret talents. I simply milk what I have for all its worth.

14. Are you a technophobe or a technophile?

Goliath and Hirsch : Technophile!

15. What would we find if we scrolled through your phone?

Goliath: Nudes of Jason Goliath.

Hirsch: Naked pictures of Donovan Goliath. Don't tell him. I took them from outside his bedroom window.

16. What advice would you give to newbies hoping to crack into the industry?

Goliath: Be funny! Believe in yourself and what you have to offer. Don't imitate.

Hirsch: Don't quit your day job.
