Principal Elma Rossouw said, "We had 745 entries which is a great improvement from last year, and the feedback from the day was really positive. The funds will go towards school fees for needy learners and towards purchasing equipment and learning materials. This would simply not be possible without Tru-Cape's generous sponsorship."

The race was won by Richard Damant. Nic Lamond, well known MTB enthusiast, Tweeted, "What a great race. Thought I'd ridden everything in Grabouw but the TruCape MTB schooled me."

Tru-Cape's marketing director, Conrad Fick, a Grabouw resident and Grabouw High School alumnus, said Tru-Cape's sponsorship of the race fitted perfectly with its healthy snacking positioning and was an event in an apple and pear growing area that also raised funds for the community.
