Speaking at the Regenesys Business School Leadership Conversations on leadership and entrepreneurship, Kim Meredith, CEO of the Dealmaker Company, said to ensure their success it is up to all stakeholders including education, government and corporate SA to ensure that they inspire as many young entrepreneurs; to embrace entrepreneurship as a lucrative venture.

According to a report by global consulting firm EY and the Group of 20 Young Entrepreneurs (G20), entrepreneurs are proving to be a sustainable solution to stimulating growth and consequently creating real jobs. The report stipulates that this group of entrepreneurs currently account for more than half of the country's employment.

Insufficient education

Furthermore, the report stipulates that 79% of entrepreneurs highlighted access to entrepreneurial development tools as one of their major challenges to success. A coherent entrepreneurship environment will go a long way in assisting South Africa in allocating pertinent resources such as education and training to support both current and potential entrepreneurs.

However, Meredith is concerned that the education and training required to support entrepreneurs in South Africa is not sufficient. Siegie Brownlee, CEO of Regenesys Business School, agrees with Meredith and says it's imperative for entrepreneurs to have the necessary education and skills to support them in the bold step they have taken into the business world. They need to be supported with an equal set of both practical and theoretical educational tools.

Support for entrepreneurs

The Regenesys Business School is able to support these entrepreneurs by providing them with a wide range of Business Management Certificates including postgraduate diplomas, Bachelor's degrees up to an MBA level to aid them in academically empowering themselves.

The Business School also offers a 'Freemium' education model, which essentially provides anyone with full access to Regenesys' intellectual property in the form of free learning material, tutoring videos, study guides, eBooks, webinars, academic articles, e-learning technical support and much more across all business qualifications.
