In a statement released on Thursday morning, 4 August 2016, outlining the structure of the merged group, no mention was made of incumbent SABMiller CEO Alan Clark.

The MD of SABMiller's SA business, Mauricio Leyva, has been appointed "zone president" of the merged group's Middle Americas division. Leyva will be an executive director on the merged group's board reporting to AB InBev CEO Carlos Brito.

The position of "business unit president SA" is going to Yokesh Maharaj, currently SAB director of sales and distribution.

SABMiller's rest of Africa division MD Mark Bowman, SABMiller's general counsel and corporate affairs officer John Davidson and group human resources director Johann Nel "will remain with the combined group for a transitional period of at least six months following completion to assist with the critical tasks of integration, talent retention and stakeholder management", AB InBev said in a statement.

Leyva would be one of nine "zone presidents" in the merged group.

Under the new structure, SABMiller's hubs in Miami, Hong Kong and Beijing will be phased out within a few months after completion of the combination.

The future of the SABMiller Europe hub in Zug would be determined as part of the process of divestment of SABMiller's Central and Eastern European businesses, which would be implemented following completion of the combination, the company said.
