Social networks, media abuzz with Bam rumours

According to City Press, rumours abound over the reasons for Miss South Africa's sudden withdrawal from the international pageant but the reigning queen, Melinda Bam and her sponsors Sun International have simply said that she has withdrawn for "personal reasons".
First Princess, Ramona Moodley will replace her in the Miss World competition that will be held in China in August. Bam says she will still represent the country at the Miss Universe pageant.

There has been wild speculation about her reasons for withdrawing including the fact that she had allowed herself to be photographed in the nude; was pregnant; had HIV and was "too wild".

The only thing that social media networks - and newspapers - haven't done is leave her in alone. City Press says she was "defensive" when approached for comment and Sun International's Sue Klerck refused to say anything either.
