New UAE multiple-entry visa benefits cruise passengers

Cruises to The United Arab Emirates have now made easier after recent changes in the UAE's visa system, which mean that, now, cruise passengers are allowed a new multiple-entry tourism permit.

"The UAE is a sought-after destination," noted Allan Foggitt, Marketing and Sales Director of MSC Cruises SA. "The new visa option will make travel between the UAE and nearby countries easier for those needing to make multiple stops by sea."

Previously, two to three single-entry visas were required for travel with some being only available on board at the time of travel, but with new regulation travellers taking a gulf cruise can now enter all UAE ports in their itinerary using just one multiple-entry visa secured in advance. The new multiple-entry tourism visa for cruise passengers costs only $50 (R528).

With cost and convenience playing a big part, the new regulation will make the destination more attractive to the South African sector.

A desirable destination

The UAE plays host to rich traditions, vibrant modernity and dramatic landscapes. The region is an innovative and highly desirable destination for cruise travellers. During an MSC Emirates adventure, travellers can enjoy a shore excursion programme designed to reveal the magic and mystery of this enigmatic world of spectacular contrasts.

The MSC Orchestra departs Dubai and takes travellers on a seven-night voyage through capital city Abu Dhabi, the picturesque coastal Khor al Fakkan, Muscat and the city dubbed the "Norway of Arabia": Khasab.
