Sacci opposed to labour amendments

According to a Times Live report, amendments to existing labour legislation would stifle job creation and even lead to retrenchments according to the South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Sacci).
The problems identified were contained in a submission to Parliament's portfolio committee on labour. Sacci's main concern is the amendment to limit temporary work to a maximum of six months and allow temporary workers to sue employers for unfair dismissal if their contract is not extended or they are not offered a permanent position, Times Live reports.
