Together with GrandWest Casino and Entertainment World, the station is looking for a dynamic woman with the potential to shine. This Saturday, 13 September sees the auditions to be held for the new Heart 104.9FM entertainment correspondent, at the Grand Arena, Grand West Casino “This initiative is just one more way in which the station is engaging with the city's imagination and connecting with the people of their community,” says Vernon Adams, Programming Manager for Heart 104.9FM. The judges, comprising of celebrities the likes of Cokey Falkow and Kurt Schoonraad together with Heart 104.9FM DJs will be looking for a person who loves the limelight. They need to be outgoing, fun and obviously also have a voice for radio. “If you love attending events and functions in and around Cape Town and can big it up with true Cape Town soul, then you're right for the job,” says Adams. The entertainment correspondent will be the eyes and ears on the street for our listeners to know what to go to and what not to miss as they will be writing about entertainment and events for the website as well as her own entertainment slot on air. “The successful candidate will also keep an eye on local gossip and share the skinner with our listeners on Friday and Saturday evenings,” says Adams. The winning star will receive a three-month trial contract to ride the red carpet, after which a possible permanent position at Cape Town soul station, Heart 104.9FM, might be the next step. Registration forms are available for downloading on www.1049.fm. Forms should be brought to the auditions starting Friday, 06h30 at Grand Arena, GrandWest Casino.
