Throughout the weeks leading up to the rugby final, the Jacaranda 94.2 news and sports teams kept listeners in the know, broadcasting profiles on each of the participating teams and covering each match played during news and sports bulletins.

For the real fanatics, the station ran a daily rugby feature and kept their popular Sports Blog constantly updated on their green and gold website, which was changed from their usual purple branding in honour of our boys. Trevor Cramer, sports journalist for Jacaranda 94.2, brought a taste of the electric atmosphere regaling listeners with live crossings during half-time and at the end of each match the Springboks played.

Sharing the Nationwide euphoria throughout the day of the final, Jacaranda 94.2 programmed a ‘Bok Anthems-themed' Saturday playing our popular rugby songs.

For those who were unable to greet the Springboks and the coveted Webb Ellis trophy at the airport, Jacaranda 94.2 brought the magic and emotion of the day to its listeners with live coverage of the ticker tape parade, as well as an outside broadcast from both the Union Buildings and ABSA ‘Bok' town at Montecasino. “Our broadcast of the Springbok parade was one of my proudest moments in radio and an unforgettable and momentous day in the history of our country,” says Alan Khan, CEO of Jacaranda 94.2. “I am honoured to be working with such an amazing group of people and I thank our entire team, who pulled out all the stops to ensure Jacaranda 94.2 and its audiences made radio history.”
