Emirates also serves the route with the Airbus 340-300 and offers twice daily international flights to and from Cape Town throughout the year.

The B777-300ER will feature 354 seats in a three-class configuration - eight seats in First Class, 42 in Business Class and 304 in Economy Class. The class leading aircraft brings lie-flat comfort to travellers in the First & Business Class cabins. A pioneer in on-board hospitality, Emirates signature First Class private suites also feature on the aircraft.

"With the new aircraft, passengers can continue to enjoy the Emirates experience which guarantees an unparalleled level of service and comfort. We look forward to carrying greater numbers of travellers from Cape Town to Dubai and across our network of over 130 destinations," said Fouad Caunhye, regional manager, Southern Africa.

"The Cape Town-Dubai route is extremely popular with leisure travellers and offers ideal onward connectivity to a multitude of holiday destinations in Europe and Asia. On board, experience truly takes centre stage, with our friendly staff ensuring your holiday starts as you step onto an Emirates flight".

All classes of the Boeing 777-300ER aircraft will be equipped with Emirates' award-winning ice entertainment system with up to 1,500 channels of on-demand entertainment, including movies, television programmes, games, audio books and music from across the world.

"Emirates also offer e-kids, an exclusive children's magazine filled with stories, jokes, puzzles, and fun facts that are sure to entertain. We like to contribute to the best family holiday memories by ensuring our young flyers have fun things to do."

"Dubai's strategic location in the trade network connecting Asia with the Mediterranean and Africa enables Emirates to offer the widest connectivity to business hubs. Be it travelling to the Indian subcontinent for IT services or the Far East for textile trade, Emirates offers connections throughout the day," adds Caunhye.

The airline's extensive product offering is further matched by its generous baggage allowances - 30 kilos in Economy Class, 40 in Business Class and 50 in First Class. Emirates Skywards Platinum, Gold or Silver members are entitled to additional allowances.

Emirates SkyCargo, the airline's award-winning cargo division, will offer up 23 tonnes of belly-hold capacity per day for Cape Town's exports of fresh produce, seafood and flowers.
