Global travel and tourism industry news portal eTN reports that the Seychelles will be hosting the 2012 Routes Africa Forum on 8-10 July 2012. Airlines from Africa, the Indian Ocean islands and the Middle East will meet to discuss existing and future affiliations and working arrangements.
According to Alain St.Ange, the Seychelles Minister for Tourism & Culture, Routes - a company focused entirely on aviation route development - believes in the triangular approach to tourism and air development - airline, civil aviation authority, and tourism board - and this approach is set to play an important part at the forum.

African airlines SAA, Kenya Airways, Arik Air and Air Austral are expected to be present at the forum. South African Airways representatives are set to travel to Seychelles with a high-powered South African delegation headed by Tourism Minister Marthinus Van Schalkuyk. The leadership of South Africa is crucial at this stage in the development of air access in Africa, eTN says. The Middle East's main carriers Emirates and Qatar have positioned themselves as the hub for not only Africa but for the world, and it is expected that they will all attend, as well.
