An Embraer 110, a twin-turboprop light aircraft, suitable for two pilots and 15 passengers, is due from Canada in a few weeks, plus a 40ft catamaran, built in Gordon's Bay, will cruise the Inhambane Bay by mid November making this central region of Mozambique more attractive to regional and international tourists.

The choice of this reliable transport aircraft was influenced by the opportunity to offer flights on Mondays and Fridays between Lanseria-Kruger International-Inhambane enabling a new and convenient Beach and Bush option. The aircraft will also be available for charter by small groups.

"We will soon be launching unique online fly-in packages in partnership with compatible Lodges in Kruger and The Polana in Maputo" says Suzette Bouwer, marketing executive for Massinga Beach and Castelo do Mar.

From November, visitors to Inhambane will be stunned by the brand new luxury 'Cat' moored off a purpose built jetty in the Bay.

Darin D'Oliveira, an avid yachtsman is excited that "transfers from the airport to our lodges will include a catered catamaran cruise but "Cassinga" will also offer diving excursions and sunset cruises around this renowned Manta coast".

The Scape 39 boat is licenced to carry 40 people and has a large cockpit area with bar and sound system. The transom is fitted with a rack for 12 dive bottles and a stainless steel braai and up in front trampolines are perfect for guest to laze around enjoying the scenery and sunshine. The vessel has an average speed of 15 knots (27km/hr) and good manoeuvrability to negotiate the channels.

The sand banks in the Inhambane Bay necessitated a redesign of the keels by adding stainless steel plates to support to protect the fibreglass from sand erosion as well as shield the propellers from getting snagged up in fishing nets.
