    Pistorius granted bail

NEWSWATCH: Oscar Pistorius has been granted R10,000 bail under strict conditions by Deputy Judge President Aubrey Ledwaba in the North Gauteng High Court this morning, 8 December 2015.

Some of the bail conditions include:

    • House arrest, although he may leave the residence between 7am - 12pm
    • He is only allowed to travel within a 20km radius, and may not leave the magisterial district of Tshwane
    • He is to hand over his passport
    • Electronic monitoring

It was also announced that Pistorius will appeal his murder conviction at the Constitutional Court, after the Supreme Court of Appeal last week replaced his original conviction of culpable homicide with one of murder. The case has been postponed to 18 April 2016.
