Merger between Drake Flemmer and Orsmond, Terence Mathie Attorneys in Eastern Cape

Drake Flemmer and Orsmond (DFO), one of the oldest law firms in East London, being established in 1888, and Terence Mathie Attorneys, founded in 2006 have announced their merger.

This combines the strengths and expertise of the two local law firms, further strengthening and extending their reach and presence in the province. It aims to ensure continued delivery of high-quality legal services, while providing clients with additional value through a wider scope and depth of legal expertise.

DFO is represented on the conveyancing and collection panels of most of the major banks and insurance companies. It brings to the partnership extensive experience and expertise in corporate and commercial law, property law and conveyancing, debt collection, litigation, personal injury claims, drafting of wills and the administration of estates and trusts.

Terence Mathie Attorneys has East London’s top businessmen, estate agents, banks and corporate institutions as clients. Terence Mathie founded the firm, after 20 years of legal experience, and it specialises in the administration of estates, High Court and Magistrates Court litigation, eviction applications, contractual disputes and drafting, as well as commercial and company law, and brings with it an exceptionally experienced and efficient conveyancing department.
