CareerJunction has released a review on the latest salary trends in South Africa, revealing salaries currently on offer in South Africa.
Findings are based on actual salary offerings posted between April 2016 and October 2016 on CareerJunction, one of SA’s leading online job boards, where over 30,000 jobs are posted monthly. The review focuses only on the top 10 most sought-after sectors in South Africa and also features handy regional salary differences (in case you're thinking of relocating in 2017) for Gauteng, the Western Cape and KwaZulu-Natal.
The sectors covered include:
- Architecture & Engineering
- Building & Construction
- Warehousing & Logistics
- Information & Communication Technology
- Design, Media & Arts
- Admin, Office & Support
- Manufacturing & Assembly
Comparing salaries 6 and 12 months ago, no major changes are evident. Regionally, Gauteng remains at the forefront of market demand and therefore also remains at the top of the pay scale, especially within the Engineering, Finance and Sales sectors, where pay gaps vary from 15% to 29% between Gauteng and the Western Cape.
Digging even deeper into the data, best-paid workers across the 10 analysed sectors seem to be those in the fields of ICT, Finance and Engineering with many salaries stretching to over R50,000 monthly for senior level professionals. On the other end of the spectrum, workers in the fields of Admin, Office & Support, Manufacturing & Assembly, and Warehousing & Logistics are the lower earners, with some only earning between R3,500 and R6,000 per month.
