    Performance on the continent

    Regionally, the list of Traveller's Choice Hotels with Exceptional Service in Africa 2014 demonstrated a big focus on Cape Town, with the city having six properties listed on the Top 25 Hotels for Service in Africa.

    They are:

  • Akademie Street Boutique Hotel and Guesthouse, Franschhoek in second place;
  • 2Inn1 Kensington, Cape Town Central in fifth place;
  • Blackheath Lodge, Cape Town Central in ninth place;
  • POD Camps Bay in twelfth place;
  • An African Villa, Cape Town Central in 16th place; and
  • Villa Zest Boutique Hotel, Cape Town Central at 21st place.

    In addition, Boulders Beach was also recently listed as the world's third most popular beach by Pinterest users.

    CEO of Cape Town Tourism, Enver Duminy, says; "The prominence of so many Cape Town establishments is significant in that we are always striving to give our visitors the best possible experience and ultimate value for money. Cape Town Tourism would like to commend these establishments for their recognition and we feel this is an excellent indication of the overall level of service that Cape Town operators provide. The tourism industry in Cape Town should, however, not become complacent and continue to use customer surveys like this to benchmark the destination globally, and continue to improve and refine our visitor offering and services."
