This after the country was plunged into darkness at the weekend after one of the silos at the Majuba power station cracked and later collapsed. This left South Africans without electricity.
"The risk of load shedding is therefore low and for the rest of the week into the weekend as a result of the increased generating capacity from the power station," said Eskom.
Capacity at Majuba which is located in Mpumalanga has been ramped up to 1900MW.
"The dam levels at our peaking power stations which use water to generate electricity are at manageable levels, and the weekend will be used to restore operating reserves and dam levels at our pumped storage stations which will prepare us for next week. We anticipate being able to do this without needing any load shedding," said the utility.
Load shedding was last implemented on Sunday with Eskom on Thursday appealing to customers to reduce their electricity use especially between 6pm to 10pm.
"Should we need to go into load shedding, customers will be alerted as early as possible."
