The prestigious award for excellence in teaching demonstrates Saville's world-class abilities and shows that South Africa can compete with - and beat - the best. In 1994, while completing his doctorate in economics, Adrian formed the investment company which became Cannon Asset Managers. Saville has successfully combined his teaching - he teaches in the fields of macroeconomics, investment finance and competitive strategy - with his investment undertakings, clearly benefiting from the synergies they hold.

Originally established in 1993 to promote management development in central and Eastern Europe, the Central and East European Management Development Association (CEEMAN) is now a global network of management development institutions with more than 210 institutional and individual members from over 50 countries in Europe, North America, Latin America, Africa, and Asia.

The CEEMAN Champion Awards were established in 2010 to recognise extraordinary individual achievements in teaching, research, institutional management, and responsible management education.
