Lina & Leo gets nominations for Yolande Botha

Film Director Yolande Botha held her first victory screening of the dark comedy Lina & Leo 2015 at The Labia, Cape Town recently and announced her excitement at having the film accepted into the Durban Film Festival.

Botha has also announced that between Lina and Leo, 2015 and Every Six Months, which she wrote and directed as part of the Colchester Film Festival 60-Hour Challenge, she and her crews have received seven nominations for awards.

The Independent Mzansi Short Film Festival, coming up this weekend, is a four-day short film celebration held at the Atterbury Theatre at the Lynnbridge Mall, Pretoria and has accepted Lino & Leo, 2015 into its short film category nominations.

Over this weekend, the Film Festival screens up to 30 hours of short films from some of the most up-and-coming directors and producers in the country.

Their mission is to present quality short films from around South Africa as well as support, recognise and honour filmmakers creating a film under 30 minutes. This is a movement to exhibit and expand the art form of short film making and support emerging filmmakers in reaching new audiences through the powerful language of film. Serving as South Africa's only dedicated short film festival, the IMSFF was founded to showcase contemporary short film making, and aims to exhibit the most captivating and innovative short content. In the process, IMSFF hopes to build an audience for short film and help giving aspiring filmmakers a foot in the door of an rapidly growing industry.
