There is a buzz of excitement at the ITM offices, as they celebrate their first birthday, and Managing Director Pete de Wet is very pleased with the way the first year has gone.
Pete de Wet, MD of ITM Consultancy, is excited about the future of the company, as it looks to grow in 2013. |
'By all accounts, our first year of trading has been good. We have managed to secure some fantastic clients, and in a very tough economic climate, our doors are still open, which means we must be doing something right!'
Pete de Wet has worked in the sponsorship industry for 15 years now, in South Africa, Africa and Europe. He left Matchworld (a division of Primedia Sport) at the end of February 2012 (he was a director and shareholder), to go it alone, and it was then that ITM Consultancy was born.
In an environment and industry that is very cluttered, ITM is very clear on it's strategy, and what the future holds for the business. 'We have made a conscious decision to remain small - we want our clients to feel special, and in order to do that, we need to give them the attention they pay for, and rightly deserve', says Pete. 'Our ambitions are to grow, but at the same time remain grounded. It is important that as a business we are nimble and able to rise to the challenges set for us by our clients.'
The next year offers very exciting prospects for the agency - with some key alliances being formed, and the opening of a second office in Kwa-Zulu Natal. 'Durban is an important city in the sports, sponsorships and events world. As a province they are aggressively targeting major events to be hosted in the metro, and province - and therein lays a great opportunity to offer a service to the sports and business community in KZN. However that does not take away from the importance of our clients across the rest of South Africa, and as we boldly move into year two of our existence, we are excited to be growing along with them' enthused Pete.
As the agency raises a glass to toast their first year's successes, some of ITM's clients were also on hand to wish the agency well:
'Congratulations and happy birthday to ITM - we wish you much success and look forward to continuing to grow our relationship with you' - Daryn Hillhouse, Rally Chief - The Put Foot Rally
'Happy Birthday ITM! Thank you for your support over the last year, and may you continue to grow from strength to strength' - Pieter Ferreira, Cellar Master - Graham Beck Wines
'It is wonderful to be acknowledged by your clients, and this celebration is as much about them, as it is about us' remarks Pete, 'It is off the back of these wonderful relationships that we take the ITM story into the future. Cheers!'
