"Intel is committed to empowering the youth of South Africa through education and technology to unlock economic opportunity. It is imperative that the private and public sector work together in order to ensure that the youth of this country have a bright future filled with opportunity," says Andre Christian, Business Development Manager for Intel South Africa.

Workshops

Intel will be presenting two workshops at the event.

"One will focus on inclusive education, which to a large extent we see as aforgotten component in South African education. Last year, we introduced it and we saw a lot of interest, but this year we want to take the next step byshowcasing implementation strategies around inclusive education. We have gathered experts in this field to be part of this workshop, people that have worldwide experience in implementation strategies in inclusive education that will provide the impetus required in Africa to move it forward."

The second workshop is on the organisation's teaching programmes and what they have to offer. "The larger eco system may not be aware of what we can offer. These programmes are free and all you need to do is sign a licence agreement to be able to offer these programmes. They are accredited programmes and they are world class. We are bringing experts in these fields, US-based Intel employees, and I think it will be an eye opener for the people that do attend."
